Winners of the Best Idea Cup 2021

36 business ideas from four faculties in ten pitches: this was the picture of the student competition “Best Idea Cup 2021”, in which the best three ideas were selected on October 5, 2021.
For seven years now, the Center for Research, Innovation and Transfer (ZFIT) of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences has been awarding students for their innovative concepts. Also this year, the jury of the Best Idea Cup, composed of the team members of the StartGlocal project, awarded the best three ideas with a prize money of 500 euros, a 6-month start-up coaching and a certificate.
It was clear from the applications submitted that the topics of sustainability and environmental protection play a major role among students. Since we received ideas from all four faculties of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, there were also many technical and digital innovations. It was not easy for us to find the top three with such quality and diversity
The following ideas were awarded:
Aerthlings App (Aleya Jobson, B.A. Gender & Diversity, Budi Handoko, M.Sc Bionics/Biomimetics, Gerardo Garzon Alvarez, M.A. Digital Media, Minh Mai Anh Nguyen, B.A. International Business and Social Sciences).
Aerthlings is an app that promotes climate action through the use of stories, game mechanics, and incentives in a fun way. Enter a fantastic dimension with your smartphone to effect change in real life.
Inspired by love (Daniela Venegas, M.Sc. Usability Engineering).
At Inspired by love, an idea turned into a device to prevent diabetics from developing lipohypertrophy, a condition-induced increase in fat tissue.
StayAllEco (Anna-Lea Koßbu, Sustainable Tourism, Luana Dietz, Yannik Müller, Jule Pannen, Bio Science and Health). StayAllEco is the booking platform for a sustainable travel world that already won at DemoDay Pitch Patch #2, the final event of the StartGlocal Academy in summer 2021.
Also this year the prize money was sponsored by the sponsoring associations of the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences - Förderverein Hochschule Rhein-Waal e.V., Förderverein Campus Cleve e.V. and Förderverein Campus Camp-Lintfort e.V..
